- V0.02d2
-
- This version didn't really do anything, but it was a start...
-
- ... I'm just going to jump ahead to the parts I remember ...
-
- V0.15a1 (Jul 6, 1991)
-
- Had combat installed, but it didn't work quite right. The universe was still
- a little screwy, but basically everything there worked.
-
- V0.15a3 (Jul 9, 1991)
-
- Fixed up combat and the universe. Didn't do much else but try to iron out
- some bugs.
-
- V0.17a4 (Jul 11, 1991)
-
- Fixed up combat some more. Also fixed up the universe so everything works
- correctly. Added more ports. Finished installing 90% of the port & trade
- routines so this is actually something which people can play. Miscellaneous
- bug fixes. Also dereferenced a lot of the player data to avoid the stupid 32k
- limit for data structures in THINK Pascal. Source size is somewhere around
- 80k now and compiled comes out to about 52k (source not including the two
- data structure files, HermHeaders & MerchantHeaders).
-
- V0.17a7 (Jul 13, 1991)
-
- Trading at ports works 100% now (as far as I can tell). Source code up to 128k
- not including the data structures. Moved the P&T code into it's own resource
- to save space in the main case. Changed the data structures around so have
- to reinitialize (again). Started encoding races, and added variables so ports
- will not always be buying/selling everything (have to put the code in though).
- Now, when you attack someone and win, you get some of their credits (half).
-
- V0.18a5 (Jul 17, 1991)
-
- Whew! Did a LOT of work on this one. Changed trading around so it looks nicer
- and I also added a lot more ports (up to 250 now). Did super-major work to the
- files so you have to re-init, but I also tried to include everything that I
- could possibly need so hopefully you won't have to re-init for a while. Added
- the races code in and also some simple code so normal (read, not SysOp) people
- only get 100 moves per day. Also added the dreaded CUSTOMS OFFICERS who bust
- you if you are smuggling "illegal" items into a port.
-
- V0.20a2 (Jul 27, 1991)
-
- Dang nab it! This is an interim release before an "official" one onto Olympus.
- Basically, there are too many changes/new functions to count. Autonav is in
- and working. Speed increase are phenomenal. Planets are started. Files are
- all changed around. Turn counter is in. All sorts of stuff which I can't
- even begin to describe. Damn thing is getting BIG!
-
- V0.22a3 (Aug 7, 1991)
-
- I think this will make it as an "official" release. There was so much done to
- the game that it hardly resembles prior versions. Once again, you have to
- re-init, but ces't la vie. I can't do anything about that one. Ships are
- entirely different, combat has been re-written. P&T actually WORKS, and
- all sorts of other things have been added to the game. This thing is starting
- to really come together. Now, for planets & teams.... <grin>.
-
- V0.23a2 (Nov 23, 1991)
-
- Whew! Well -- after an extended "vacation" from programming this game I've got
- a lot of new features inserted. First off, Autonav works fine EXCEPT for the
- "normal" (Y) version. For some reason I can't fathom at this point, if you use
- it and it asks if you want to stop, then it will repeat the last warps you did.
- Just use the "E"xpress method until I fix this. I also (finally) added in the
- bare-bones starbase. As of this release the only thing you can do there is go
- to the shipyards and add cargobays to your ship, but enough people were
- screaming about this that I felt it was enough to warrant a release. Have fun
- with it!
-
- V0.25a1 (Jun 1, 1992)
-
- Ack .. it's been awhile since I did anything with this program, but I did good
- this time. I couldn't figure out why it kept displaying the people who had
- been destroyed in a system, but I did patch it so it won't do that (the problem
- still exists, but it won't show YOU). I also fixed some bugs where people
- ended up with negative money, and I also added in the ability to expand your
- reactor core (finally!) from the starbase.
- In addition to all that I made some changes in the initialization program so
- while you don't HAVE to re-init your universe it is HIGHLY recommended that
- you do so as I fixed some problems there too (I think). If you have any
- comments to make, please do so either on Olympus, or on my brothers board,
- the Sunset Strip at 609-683-4962 (12/24/96/HST DS). Enjoy!
